This needlepoint pillow captures an alarmed pheasant in flight as the big, beautiful bird scurries to escape whatever frightened him. His strong wings propel him into flight as his tail feathers trail elegantly behind him in a sweeping train. The foggy backdrop and barren tree give the impression of mid-winter, and the subdued colors cause the royal purple and blue of the pheasant’s feathers to stand out in contrast.
